The 55th Home Fair open till Sunday

Two Quality Labels in Construction awarded by Borut Pahor

At the ceremonial opening of the 55th international Home Fair today at 10 a.m., Borut Pahor, President of the Republic of Slovenia, awarded two Quality Labels in Construction. For the installation of builders’ joinery in new buildings it was given to companies SATLER okna in vrata from Slovenske Konjice and ARCONT IP from Gornja Radgona. 
Until Sunday, 545 companies from 32 countries are presenting their products and services at the fair.

On behalf of Ljubljana – European Green Capital 2016, the sponsor of the 55th Home Fair, the speakers were Mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, and Iztok Bricl, M.Sc., Director of the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. Zoran Janković emphasized the exceptional significance of the fair because ‘it promotes, informs about and advises on sustainable construction, home furnishing and landscaping, and presents the latest trends in these areas.’ Mayor spoke of numerous achievements in the life quality in the capital, which Ljubljana reached in the shortest time period, as stated in the substantiation of this highest award by the European Commission. Among the contents of the biggest fair organized by the GR- Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, Iztok Bricl mentioned the accompanying programme with more than 120 lectures by independent experts complemented by free consulting on construction, renovation, efficient use of energy and reusable resources, and possibilities of loans and co-financing of environmentally friendly investments. ‘Here, independent experts give concrete answers to questions such as which windows or doors to choose and why, what is the efficiency of contemporary heating appliances and how to reach standards of almost zero-energy houses under the regulations we will have to comply with after two or four years …’

Two Quality Labels in Construction for builders’ joinery installation
After 20 years, the Quality Label in Construction is still the only Slovenian non-obligatory environmental certificate in construction. It labels products, services, appliances and technologies which fulfil the highest and internationally comparable quality standards.
The expert jury chaired by Miha Tomšič, M.Sc., and other members from the Construction Institute ZRMK wrote:
‘Company ARCONT IP from Gornja Radgona is one of the biggest producers of PVC and aluminium joinery, and installs windows and doors of its own production. Apart from modern installation technology known as “RAL installation”, they offer special models according to project characteristics and type of supporting structure. 


They use quality and certified materials and tools complying with contemporary professional standards. They keep records of their work cycle, equip their customers with installation instructions, and offer payable annual maintenance.  The company provides additional trainings and updating for its employees. It boasts with numerous references in Slovenia, Austria and Germany.’


‘Company SATLER okna in vrata from Slovenske Konjice installs PVC windows and doors from its own production, and also offers wooden and aluminium ones made to order. For many years, they have used the contemporary installation technology known as “RAL installation”. They comply with the instructions of their suppliers of profiles, sealants and fasteners. One of their strengths are solutions for thermal bridges and other details in building engineering physics. They use quality and certified materials and tools complying with contemporary professional standards. They keep records of their work cycle and maintain exemplary relationships with their customers. 


They provide regular trainings for their employees. Among their numerous references are single-family homes, multi-apartment buildings, business premises and public buildings in Slovenia, Austria and Germany.’
In the procedure of comparative assessment, both winners of the Quality Label in Construction had to prove that they comply with all principles and procedures of contemporary installation, assure satisfactory business process, have financially sound business, strive for preservation of environment and employees’ health, and are socially responsible.

To the fair with a cheaper ticket:

During the HAPPY HOUR – reduced ticket 5 EUR on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (8 to 10 March) – from 1 to 3 p.m. Purchase and visit only during Happy Hour.

With a ticket, every visitor gets a catalogue which is also accessible on-line. It is a guide throughout the fair as well as a manual with an array of popular articles on construction topics, the schedule of consultations, and the list of exhibitors with their descriptions and contact data.

To the fair by a city bus:
Ljubljana - the Green European Capital 2016, the sponsor of the 55th Home Fair, invites visitors to enjoy the following bonuses:

  • free bus ride from the fair by a city bus (show your ticket) 
  • P+R Stožice (11 – 13 March): free parking (Entrance 1 and Entrance 5) and bus transport (bus Nos. 13 and 20) Stožice-Razstavišče – two-way ride with a ticket purchased on-line.

To the fair during opening hours:
The fair is open from Tuesday, 8 March, to Saturday, 12 March, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday, 13 March, to 6 p.m.
