Home fair

Next week at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, 62nd Home Fair

From 6 to 10 March, the largest construction fair in Slovenia and neighbouring regions, the 62nd Home Fair, will be held at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Over 300 companies from 24 countries will be presenting a range of services and products, system solutions and advanced technologies for the home, construction, energy-efficient builders’ joinery, heating and cooling technology, interior design, security and landscaping. The latest trends or novelties, innovations and the most sophisticated products and services accompanying home construction or renovation will be showcased. Visitors will be able to take advantage of trade fair benefits, compare offers and consult experts.

Throughout the Fair, consultants from the ZRMK Building and Civil Engineering Institute and the ENSVET – Eco Fund Network will be available to visitors with free advice. The former cover the technical and professional field, the latter the field of lending and co-financing of environmentally friendly investments of natural and legal persons.

The common thread of this year’s professional accompanying events, designed by the ZRMK Building and Civil Engineering Institute, is the construction and renovation of buildings and the energy sources for their operation. The events are aimed at the professional public and citizens who are planning or carrying out construction or renovation work, or who are considering changing their heating source or other measures.

The ENSVET – Eco Fund Network’s energy consultants bring together knowledge and innovations from the construction, architecture, mechanical engineering and energy saving sectors. In doing so, energy consultants aim to co-create a sustainable future. At the Fair, they provide advice on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources and information on the awarding of non-repayable financial incentives.

Both will also answer the topical question of what the new electricity network charging system will bring.

The bathroom is the most intimate place in the house, where we spend a lot of our time, therefore it is important to feel good in it. Merkur’s consultants offer free 3D bathroom drawings, advice and planning. MERKUR Energy experts will examine the needs and propose the most efficient energy solution for your home or commercial building.

As an attraction, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about a new technique of rammed earth construction, which is not actually new, as it was already used in the past. In fact, earth is a material that is present everywhere and does not require any technological process other than compaction. With the new awareness of environmentally sound construction, earth is once again coming back to the forefront of contemporary architecture. The positive effects are that building with earth generates no waste, while the living environment is healthy and pleasant.

On Thursday, 7 March, the Slovenian Woodworking Days, the central national professional event of the Slovenian wood industry, will be held in parallel. The main thematic focus will be developments in our most important export markets, activities and development incentives for the timber industry, examples of the development of new wood materials and innovative uses of wood in the construction and renovation of buildings, as well as an open discussion between researchers, companies and suppliers of technological equipment on the challenges of development in the light of the transition to a circular economy and adaptation to the effects of climate change.

Among the products and services presented at the Fair, there are more and more innovations that are the result of Slovenian know-how. The Quality Mark in Construction recognition awards, which are presented annually on the first day of the Fair, encourage sustainable solutions, thus striving for greater quality and competitiveness in Slovenia’s construction sector
